Grenada, a sovereign state in the West Indies, is also known as the Island of Spice due to its production of nutmeg and mace crops, of which it is one of the world’s largest exporters. The country Grenada consists of the island of Grenada and six smaller islands to the north of the main island. It is 134.6 sq. miles with a population of 112,200. The capital is St. George’s and the national bird is the Grenada Dove, which is critically endangered.
Its soil, mountainous interior, and several iconic craters make it evident that Grenada is of volcanic origin. Tourism and agriculture are what the country depends on for its income, and the rich culture makes the island an attractive place to spend a vacation. The mountainous island also attracts ecotourists. Grenada had an interesting revolution period before the island could begin to recover from the tyrannous rule.
