Keesha Fleming Lake, LLM. is an experienced attorney who has provided legal services to her clients for over 21 years.  Keesha was born and raised in the Caribbean and from her early adult years she resided both in the United States and the Caribbean.  Keesha has dual nationality and maintains a professional and social residence between Anguilla and Florida.  Keesha had the good fortune of having acquired her pre college, college and professional education in the United Kingdom, the Caribbean and the United States. This solid educational background provided her with the necessary foundation to build upon and establish a successful legal career in the Caribbean Region and the United States.

Keesha started her legal career in the United States as an Associate for a major US law firm where she provided legal services to fortune 500 companies. During this time she developed a sound understanding of the demands, attention and the quality of service that these institutions require from their legal counsel. Following this, she practiced law in Anguilla thereby developing her skills and understanding of the legal system in the Caribbean region. To qualify herself to become a licensed attorney in the Caribbean Region, Keesha studied at one of the three law schools in the Caribbean, Eugene Dupuch Law School located in Nassau, The Bahamas.

Having the qualifications and an extensive background in practicing law in the Caribbean and the United States, Keesha is skilled to navigate all aspects of intellectual property law.  Her understanding of the legal system in the Caribbean has allowed her to develop the expertise necessary to build her practice in the region.  She is known among her peers and the Registries in the Region for her diverse knowledge and skill.  She is a registered attorney in the United States: Michigan, Florida and Missouri and also in the Caribbean: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis and is expecting soon to be called to the bar in other jurisdictions.  Keesha has focused her practice on both intellectual property law and corporate law matters.

Keesha has tailored her practice to give each of her files the personalized individualized attention required to ensure that applications are processed promptly and effectively at Registries throughout the Caribbean Region.  This is especially important to her, as attention to detail is needed for this region that continues to be a majority manual jurisdiction.  Having been involved in intellectual property law matters where applications were refused due to complicated issues and obstacles, she has successfully resolved the issues before the trademark registries, resulting in registrations and processing of applications.  She has developed her expertise to manage large and complex Intellectual Property portfolios in the Caribbean.

Over the years, Keesha has developed an understanding of the various Registry requirements in the Caribbean region. She was actively involved in the management of large trademark portfolios for corporations and individuals. Using her knowledge of the Caribbean region and of intellectual property law practice, Keesha has authored and co-authored several articles on the trademark law practice in the region. Her memberships in the bar associations and Caribbean intellectual property law associations give her direct access to the updates in the laws of the region and developments at the local Registries.

In addition to being a member of the various Caribbean and United States Bar Associations, Keesha is a member of the American Bar Association, The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States Bar Association, International Trademark Association – INTA, The Intellectual Property Caribbean Association and the Palm Beach County Bar Association.
